PROJECT & BOOK DEVELOPMENT

One-to-one mentoring for your photobook project

I'm available for one-to-one mentoring to help you develop your photobook project from where it stands now through to a finished dummy — or further, toward publication.

This isn't a fixed-format course. The time span needed depends on the project: some bodies of work need a single focused session to unlock a sequencing problem; others need sustained work over several months, from first edit to final dummy. We agree the shape and length of the collaboration based on what your project actually needs, not a set template.

Email me to discuss your project and how we might work together.info@photobookworkshop.com

What this can cover

  • Editing and sequencing your images into a coherent narrative

  • Structural decisions: form, pacing, rhythm, the architecture of the book

  • Material choices — paper, binding, format — and how they carry meaning

  • Building a working dummy

  • Preparing a project for submission, grant applications, or publishers

Previous outcomes

Several of my former workshop and mentoring participants have gone on to publish their projects. Their books have been produced by publishers including M-Edition and Ibasho Gallery, among others.

What people have said

From workshops and project development sessions:

"Tomasz's edit of my book changed the direction of that particular body of work in an exciting way, and deepened my own understanding of the work, which has pushed the work in a new direction." — Aletheia Casey

"This workshop with Tomasz allowed me to really put a new work in motion – his generous and precise insight brought a fresh dynamic as well as a new formal approach to the pictures. Since, the project has been shown in two exhibitions and has received a grant to produce the book!" — Matilda Holloway

"Tomasz connected with my series very intuitively and instantly captured the real story. He helped me see what I couldn't see, and showed me how to relate to the core of my work on every level in order to find the right decisions." — Sarah Walzer
